NASW Insurance Enterprise Divests from Russian Investment Assets In Response to Putin’s Military Aggression in Ukraine
NASW Assurance Services, Inc. (ASI), NASW Insurance Company, Inc. (NASWIC), and Preferra Insurance Company RRG, formerly NASW Risk Retention Group, Inc., have collectively divested all investments tied to Russia in support and solidarity with the Ukrainian peoples and government against Putin’s unprovoked Russian military invasion and warring in Ukraine.
We believe we each have power and responsibility to make a difference, and that by divesting from Russian investments, we join with other countries, states, corporations, organizations, non-profits, and individuals in taking a collective stand against Putin’s military leadership and military aggression in Ukraine.
Together, we make a powerful impact by condemning Russia’s military actions ordered by Putin to the world community.
In taking these actions, we hope to inspire other organizations and individuals to take similar actions in support of Ukraine.
We support the Ukrainian peoples and government in their stand against Putin’s Russian military aggression. We are inspired by the courage and bravery of the Ukrainian people and their commitment to their Democratic form of government. We send our thoughts, hopes, and prayers to them for their safety and peace in our world.
NASW commends NASW Insurance Enterprise for joining companies ranging from Apple to Disney to Shell in divesting from Russia. Economic pressure will be key in getting Vladimir Putin and Russian Leadership to end this unnecessary and cruel invasion of Ukraine and we are glad a major social work insurance company is joining this push.
Social workers stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and demand Russia stop an invasion that is killing scores of people each day and has forced almost a million Ukrainians to flee their homeland. Any tool we can bring to bear to stop this atrocity – including economic pressure – must be used. We are glad NASW Insurance Enterprise has taken this important step.
