Frederick, Maryland – August 7, 2015—NASW Assurance Services, Inc. (ASI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as one of the best places to work in Frederick, Maryland.

The Best Places to Work Campaign is part of a countywide partnership focusing on increasing quality-of-life opportunities for Frederick County employees by encouraging a work-life balance. Winners of this award are selected based on their strong commitment to their employees and for creating a positive work environment. Scoring categories include work-life balance, median salary, turnover rate, benefits, diversity, and professional growth. This award is sponsored by the Frederick County Business Development and Retention Department; the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development; Frederick County Workforce Services; and the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.

“We strive to recruit and retain high-performing individuals who are dedicated to making ASI a successful organization,” says Tony Benedetto, CEO, NASW Assurance Services, Inc.

ASI has a mission-driven, very engaged, and diverse workforce dedicated to improving the lives of social workers nationwide through its insurance and benefit programs. In turn, ASI does much to foster a positive, healthy and engaging work environment for its employees.

“We aim to establish a creative, innovative and challenging environment and encourage employees to grow and thrive in their roles and this award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our employees,” says Benedetto.

Staff involvement in company-wide strategic planning and goal setting is key at ASI. The entire staff is strongly encouraged to participate in various career development opportunities and on-site training programs year-round. Every staff member is surveyed annually on their understanding of their role, the company’s mission, and the authority and responsibility they have to do their jobs. The results are then compared to previous years and industry standards.

The staff enjoys benefits such as competitive medical and compensation plans, performance incentives, advancement opportunities, flexible work schedules, including telecommuting, employee outings, wellness/fitness programs, and paid time off for community giving activities and volunteerism. Salary surveys and benchmarking are conducted regularly to ensure ASI’s compensation benefits and staff position descriptions are competitive with the industry. As a result of all its efforts, ASI enjoys low staff turnover and, therefore, maintains a highly productive and consistent workforce with the ability to develop more skilled employees. According to its employees, ASI is truly the best place to work.
